Just bought this recently for my 2 and a half year old son (and also with the view that my 1 and a half year old daughter will play with it too when she gets a bit older). For the past week my son has played with this constantly. He is especially fascinated with the level crossing, enjoying blocking the train, then letting it through, etc. He also likes to line up the cars on the track too. He talks about it when not playing it too. He is certainly getting a lot of fun from it so far. Plus there are so many accessories that can be added to it gradually to stop it becoming boring. Really pleased with this!
This toy was bought for my 4 year old grand daughter for Christmas. It needed adult supervision to construct the track. The toy is a good stimulus for children creating their own stories from the many accessories that came with the set. Probably best played with quietly when imaginations can develop. I only saw two days use of the toy so cannot comment on the longer term durability.
