Customer Reviews
This hasn't been the easiest of toys to get hold of, a product recall for a batch seemingly led to it being removed from many retailer's shelves, but it is now becoming available again from many places.
This is a tall toy (hence the stand and play element of the toy name!) and consists of a two twisting rampways which spiral down to ramps at the bottom. When you put the two cars supplied at the top of the rampway they speed downwards going through the holes in the wall and through to the other side, only to re-emerge a split second later as the ramp returns through another hole. It looks pretty impressive when you let both cars go down at the same time.
A car lift on a clicky ratchet can be used to lift your cars up the side of the rampway, this makes a great loud 'zipping' sound and my kids love messing with that just for the noise alone! This takes batteries for lights and sounds but to be honest there aren't many and they don't seem to notice when they aren't switched on or if there are no batteries in.
The whole thing is easy to assemble and takes about 15 minutes. The ramps are numbered and simply click into place and some screws are provided to secure some of them making the whole thing feel pretty solid. There's also an inbuilt carry handle so that you don't damage the ramps by lifting it by them.
In a nutshell: This is an eye-catching toy as it is bright and tall, but it doesn't provide as much playtime as I thought it would. Once you've span the cars down it a few times it loses it's novelty value for a little while, it's also become very expensive. This is a good toy and one I do recommend, but for the price you could get something equally as sturdy but with more play value (for example: Little Tikes Big Car Carrier).
Bought for my 1 year old, however my 3 year old seemed to be enjoying it a little more! Played with it a long time at first, have both lost interest in it at the moment but with all other presents had at Christmas time I am not surprised! I am sure it is a toy that will grab their attention again at a later date.
