Corgi TY84005 London 2012 Great British Classics Concorde Fit the Box Die

Product Description

Corgi are proud to introduce the first and only die cast collection to be inspired by the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, which we hope becomes a lasting legacy of a monumental moment in sporting history. Whether it is a high end, authentically detailed Limited Edition piece or the start of a multi piece ‘collect them all’ series, there is something here for everyone.
The current Olympic record for the Marathon is 2 hours 6 minutes and 32 seconds set at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing by Samuel Kamau Wanjiru of Kenya. Travelling at 1,450 mph Concorde could complete 26.3 miles (the distance of the modern marathon) in 65 seconds.
The fastest journey from New York to London Heathrow Airport was achieved on January 1st 1983, taking 2 hours 56 minutes.
Concorde remains an iconic symbol, both for its technology and sculptural shape. Concorde’s drooping nose was a compromise between the aerodynamic efficiency in flight and the need for the pilot to see properly during taxi, takeoff, and landing operations. A joint venture between Great Britain and France, Concorde was in service for 27 years and is the most successful commercial supersonic airliner in the world.

Customer Reviews

I was looking for items to generate interest for the olympics in my nephew aged 11 who lives in the US. I didn't remember his loves for all things plane related. However the plane has peaked his interest about the history of the games, his british heritage in design and excellence in Concorde and why the fleet have been decommissioned. It made his eyes light up as much as an A380 does. There is so much he has investigated and learned from a seemingly overt commercialisation of the games.
Encourage their curiosity, get them a plane.
With regards to the plane itself, same quality and durability you get from BA planes you can buy onboard

the post was very good and the london 2012 is the best and yes i will go back on Amazon is the best all the time then going to high street shops all the time
